After a long gap of more than a year, we are off to
Bangalore with The 1000 Crane Project, and this year it seems that through the
able support of a well-wisher and supporter who wants to remain anonymous we
shall be able to achieve the 3 art-camps as per plan.
The 1000 Crane Project is being hosted at the International
Institute of Information Technology at Electronic City in Bangalore. A more
than perfect location, as one of our objectives to bring the children to
Bangalore was to expose them to the amazing IT careers that they can aspire for
through computer education.
We are also happy to share that Infosys, Bangalore
has invited the children for a tour of their campus which is a talked about
space in Electronic City, so the kids will get to see the inside of one of the
major leaders in the Global IT World.
Archana Prasad, Abhishegh Menon, Lina Talke, Sophie Morbe and Sumeer Kumar - THE CORE TEAM !!!! |
For the first time we have a Bangalore Volunteer – Sumeer Kumar
– an entrepreneur, a designer, a social work enthusiast, who has been
tirelessly working in Bangalore getting all his contacts and networks together
to find us the venue, some interesting resource people and basically be our man
on the ground.
Jaaga, the studio and collective community of creative
professionals and dreamers in Bangalore has come forth as our partners to help
us put the program for the art camps together. Archana Prasad, founder of
Jaaga, and a fellow NIDian shall be working hands on with the children with
some of her own creative ideas.
With Sumeer and Archana in Bangalore, we have managed to
rope in groups like Art of Living, Rafiki Theater Group and some individual
artists and designers who shall come in through the 10 days to work with the
children.
From Goa, the team of Tara Trust travelling is bigger –
Abhishegh Menon and Lina Talke, who came in for a 3 month internship and
